Vectronix doubles production capacity

Inaugural celebration of new production building in Heerbrugg, Switzerland

Heerbrugg, Switzerland, September 17, 2009 – Vectronix AG is moving into its new production facility only 11 months after breaking ground. Today’s inauguration party concludes the successful planning and execution of this project.

The new building offers a very modern production space of approximately 4000 square meters, divided into 4 production floors and 1 logistic floor. The design is based on advanced building technology, creating an exceptionally worker friendly environment. The doubling in production space provides Vectronix with the opportunity to consolidate all externally contracted production areas into one common space, resulting in improved work flow and increased efficiency. Today, 90 employees are already working inside the new facility and this will increase to well over 100 production workers by the end of 2010.

“Today’s inauguration marks another significant milestone on our path to successfully expand Vectronix. This major investment confirms our dedication to Swiss-based manufacturing and our heritage in Heerbrugg” said Jean Harter, CEO of Vectronix AG. Currently Vectronix exports over 95% of its products and technologies to countries abroad, namely to the USA where the company is successfully developing its own subsidiary.

During the past two weeks, Vectronix has announced major orders from the US and the UK, totalling over 120 million Swiss Francs. The company is well positioned to reach its challenging target to double revenues between 2008 and 2012.

Responsible for the overall project, Efthimios Katsidis, Director Operations, VP, is very pleased with the completed building.. “The new production space is set up in a completely modular way. This gives us the flexibility to remain very responsive to changing customer requirements”. The move into the new facility was completed within 12 days, following a detailed master plan prepared by a total of 23 project teams. Not one customer shipment was delayed in the process.
