Vectronix Products Acclaimed by U.S. Soldier in Afghanistan
The soldier-son of a Vectronix employee is deployed in Afghanistan. Under the harshest battle conditions he and his team maximize security and effectiveness – with the trusted help of Vectronix products.
Aiding the team’s mission are the PLRF15C for sniper missions, and the LRTV (JIM LR) for long-range observation missions conducted at night. The soldier stated: “We use both pieces of equipment every day. We cannot do without them; they are simply great and reliable.”
The soldier’s father speaks from the collective heart of every parent of a U.S. soldier: “I am very grateful for my son’s safety and the products that help to keep it that way.”
We must constantly be aware that lives depend on the quality and reliability of our Vectronix products, and that we have to put every effort into making them even better.
U.S. Soldier Survives Sniper Attack – Instead, VECTOR Binoculars Take the Injury
“It kind of felt like Chuck Norris kicked me in the side,” is how the U.S. soldier described what it felt like to get shot.
During a routine patrol near the village of Yazeen he was hit by bullets twice, with both rounds being stopped by the side-plate of his body armor. One bullet hit his VECTOR binoculars.
Immediately after realizing he wasn’t injured, he performed a casualty assessment of his wounded platoon sergeant, then gave the distance and direction of the sniper fire and directed Close Air Support – all within two minutes of being shot. “I wasn’t hurt, so there was no point in not doing my job,” said the soldier.
In this case it seems like the soldier was “infected” by the reliability and robustness of his Vectronix gear.
